These are all great tips, but what do you do when you are in a city known for its' antisocial tendencies? I moved from Texas, a very friendly, open, eye-contact place, to Seattle, known for it's passive aggressive and rude people, who are actually offended by eye contact or the simple act of saying good morning. I have decided to continue being friendly, because I don't want to turn into one of the stepford wives, but am treated like I just stepped off a spaceship.
