You know it happens all the time, but do you approve?

This is a HUGE no.  Unless you don't need to work, the admin will be on the losing end.  You  can't keep it a secret forever, others will change their perceptions of you in a negative way and will no longer take you or your contributions seriously.  If it's truly love, find another job, and then date.  If you date your boss and it works out - you will lose the respect of your colleagues (after all, you're the boss's girlfriend, therefore, you don't really have to work hard) and if it doesn't work out  you will no longer be able to be effective in your position and if one of you  has to go, it won't be the boss.

It is never, never ok to date the boss!
