I do not want dogs in the workplace.  I am tired of people bringing their dogs with them everywhere - I've seen people bring dogs to ballet studios.  Why would that be an apppropriate place for dogs?

To be fair, I don't want people to bring their kids to work either.

They are all distractions in the workplace.  I just want to do my work in peace and quiet - not listening to your dog or kid and the staffers all oohing and aahing over your visitor.

My former supervisor had a dog who had cancer (I think) and needed to go to the vet every Thursday.  So she would bring the dog in to work and she would lay there in the cubicle.  Later on, I found out that dogs are not allowed in campus buildings, though that hasn't stopped students from bringing them through.
